Whither the EITB?

Abstract

The engineering industry is in metamorphosis. It is changing its products, its processes, its business structures, and its methodology of management. Perhaps most importantly of all, it is changing from being an industry of comparative stability to being one of continuing and increasingly rapid change. It needs to be clearly understood that the problem is not simply one of performing a single, violent convulsion in which a new order replaces the old and stability returns. We are faced for the foreseeable future with the need not only to cope with change, but to pursue it actively in order to meet and beat our competitors in world markets.
