Viewpoint: End of an era
Abstract
For some time the need for a new professional body had been apparent to a group of industrialists, educationists and politicians. After British Institute of Management ceased to examine, there was a gap in the provision of management qualifications. A high‐level general management qualification was required. It was to meet this need that the Association of Business Executives was formed, and its subsequent growth and recognition have demonstrated the far‐sightedness of its founding parents.
