Abstract

Furniture costing Furniture costing is full of traps for the unwary. Although suppliers fall over themselves to provide information and elaborate quotations it is extremely hard to find a way through complex discounting procedures which can make comparisons almost impossible. In this review Bernard Williams suggests some possible solutions, emphasises the importance of performance criteria — what exactly is the furniture intended to do? — and finally suggests some guideline prices for generic furniture ranges.
