Abstract

GERMANY Galvanic Cells with Electron Acceptors. Current densities, potentials and corrosion of galvanic cells with constant reference electrodes were measured for a range of pH values from 1 to 14. Within the range of pH 5 to 9 potentials and current densities of filed iron cathodes (not polished or ground cathodes) are independent of the pH value. Both curves have maxima at approximately pH 3 and 13, and a minimum at pH 2.5.
