Abstract

Plastics in Industry: Chemical Engineering Construction. Acalor (1948) Ltd. The employment of many chemical polymers or plastics as materials of construction has proved to be a natural development, which is increasing continually, and includes the use of preformed sheet and extrusions, both rigid and plasticised, as well as applied film and solutions. These materials are used for fabrications of all kinds, including tanks and tank linings, fume scrubbers, and ducting, pipes, valves, fans, etc., produced as standard factory articles, or applied on site, for the construction and protection of the many intricate forms required within the industry, such as scrubbing, washing, neutralisation, conveying, storing or mixing chemical fumes and liquids.
