Abstract

Procedures for depositing metals on uranium have been investigated by the National Bureau of Standards. Anhydrous plating processes prevent formation of a black oxide film between the uranium and plating metal that results when uranium is plated in aqueous solution. A method of determining porosity of plating materials on uranium was developed in the study.
