New justification for investment in quality control instrumentation for the coatings industries
Abstract
Gradual and not so gradual inflation over recent years has increased material costs substantially and of course oil‐related products horrendously so. Until the last five years the justification for investment in electronic instrumentation for quality control, or process control, varied little as costs of instruments closely followed those costs of materials. The early 1980's have changed all that. Several factors have brought about major reductions in instrument costs totally changing the financial justification on purchase, making the investment viable in the very short term. These factors basically relate to microprocessor technology which have achieved:—
