Abstract

An additional range of reporting options has been developed as part of its on‐line inspection service to pipeline operators by British Gas plc, Cramlington, Northumberland, England NE23 9EQ. Alternative forms of data presentation permit users to determine precisely — according to their own requirements — the status, the operational integrity and maintenance priorities on all oil and gas transmission systems, from 200 mm to 1040 mm diameter, without interruption to product flow. This facility is particularly important to both safety and operating economics as pipelines begin to age — and many thousands of pipeline miles have now been operating for upwards of 40 years.
