Abstract

A system consisting of a preprocessor, a finite element program and a postprocessor has been developed. Some features which make preprocessors and postprocessors user‐friendly are described. Although microcomputers become more advanced it is still important that the finite element programs are fast and that they need small central memory. Programming details which accomplish this are also described. A Fortran program is appended which can assist the programmer who wants to implement the described routines for fast calculating of the shape functions and their derivatives.
