Abstract

A frontal solution program for linearly constrained boundaries is presented, which may be used for the solution of symmetric matrix equations in conjunction with linearly constrained boundary conditions. Based on the use of a transformation matrix, which condenses out constrained variables and a frontal solver developed by Irons, the additional parts in the program are presented which are entirely independent of the original version. The program is efficient in terms of computational time and core storage requirements.
