Industrial Relations Under Transition to a Market Economy: The Polish Experience

Abstract

The Polish economy is undergoing substantial transformation which is mostly called “transition from a planned to a market economy”. It is said there are two main goals to be fulfilled: firstly, the increase of a global efficiency; secondly, the spread of proper, democratic industrial relations. One can put forward a thesis that these goals are interrelated and this thesis will be examined in the paper. With respect to the first goal liberalisation, as well as privatisation, are to be stressed.
