Abstract

Hot Air Reducing Valves A new scries of hot air reducing valves for aircraft has just been added to the range made by the Hymatic Engineering Co. Ltd., of Redditch, Worcs. They are designed to control the hot air tapped from a jet engine compressor for a variety of purposes. Known as the PS.60 series, these valves have been derived from and form an extension to Hymatic's larger PS.48 series. The valves can stabilize inlet pressures of up to 160 lb./sq. in. at constant adjustable outlet pressures of up to 35 lb./sq. in. within temperature limits of —40 deg. C. to 300 deg. C. This wide operating range is achieved by the use of light alloy and by the exclusion of any organic packing materials.
