Abstract

Foamoprene is the trade name given to a type of polyurethane foam manufactured by Kay Brothers Plastics, Marple, Stockport, Cheshire. With a k value of 0028 the material is a good thermal insulator, and is also effective for acoustic insulation. It will with‐stand dry heat up to 120 deg. C. Impervious coatings of p.v.c. or synthetic lacquer can be sprayed on. A form with moulded cavities is used for durable light‐weight cushioning.
