Abstract
THE Rolls‐Royce Bristol Pegasus Mk. 101 (Fig. 1) is a straight flow, twin spool, turbofan jet propulsion engine with a bypass ratio of 1·44 : 1 at V/S.T.O.L. rating. It is designed specifically to enable the gross thrust vector to be rotated to meet the requirements of V/S.T.O.L., conventional flight, and to provide a measure of reverse thrust for braking.
