Abstract

The biggest gathering of air racing pilots ever staged in Britain is the promise made for the two day flying display and air race meeting at Halfpenny Green, Bobbington on 29th and 30th August. The significance of the meeting has been increased for besides the customary final qualifying race for the National Air Racing Championships, results will be influenced by a new — the fourth — qualifying race, the Goodyear G800, introduced the day before, on the Sunday. Besides a second Goodyear trophy, the winner stands to gain £100. Thus two of the four qualifying races for the championship will this year be held at Halfpenny Green on the two consecutive days of the August bank holiday weekend.
