Safety with fire detectors and ejector seats

Abstract

FIRE DETECTION for the powerplant areas is accomplished by utilising independent detection systems for the three engine zones — main engine, lift engine and auxiliary power unit. The main engine and lift engines are each covered by two separate detectors, while the APU compartment utilises a single element, for a total of five detectors per aircraft.
