Abstract

THE APPLICATION of an old principle opens a new era in locating buoys from an aircraft. This system, called the sonobuoy reference system (SRS), was conceived and developed by the Cubic Corporation for the S‐3A. Navy sources indicate that the lack of such a system is one of the major limitations in developing new ASW tactics.
