Abstract
THE AUXILIARY POWER UNIT, designated by Williams Research, model WR27–1, is an outgrowth of their earlier model WR9 APU now being used on the de Havilland Buffalo aircraft. The WR27–1 provides bleed air for starting of the TF‐34 main engines and the air cycle environmental control system, as well as electrical power for ground use and inflight emergency backup for the main engine generators.
