Machining Undercarriage Bogie Beams

Abstract

To expand the capacity for manufacture of wide‐body aircraft undercarriages, Dowty Rotol has established a new £7.5 million machine shop at its Staverton, Gloucester works. Centre‐piece of this facility is a five spindle Droop & Rein gantry type copy mill supplied by Elgar Machine Tool Co. Ltd. of London.
