Abstract
PRODUCT improvement has always been a significant factor in the quality of Martin Baker ejection seats. As the demands of a new aircraft have necessitated extensions to the performance envelope of an escape system, technological advances have been incorporated to enable the equipment to meet or exceed the requirements of the new specification. The most recent example of this process is the award of the contract to develop and produce a new high technology escape system in response to the United States Navy Aircrew Common Ejection Seat (NACES) programme. This concerns the Martin Baker Mk 14 design, which is an ejection seat that has been derived from the company's systems in the F/A‐18, F‐14, A‐6E, Hawk, Harrier GR 5, Tornado and other aircraft.
