Abstract

THE introduction of a new automated ultrasonic cleaning system has enabled the British Aerospace Precision Products Group at Stevenage to improve pre‐assembly cleaning quality and cut solvent usage by ninety percent. The new unit, a USC 375/3HP from Kerry Ultrasonics Ltd, harnesses heat pump thermal transfer techniques to minimize overnight solvent evaporation. In conjunction with diagnostic process control, a dedicated computerised work transporter enables optimum performance levels to be established and maintained.
