Abstract

DEVELOPMENT of the Rolls‐Royce RB 211 turbofan is characterised by progressive evolution with the latest versions meeting the thrust requirements of large two, three and four engine aircraft in the 1990's. At the upper end of the range is the RB 211–524 G/H engine which recently entered service and the more powerful Trent scheduled for airline operations in 1993.
