Abstract

WHEN you ask John Courtney, the hangar maintenance superintendent at Monarch Aircraft Engineering at Luton Airport, why he has a Boss SX50 five‐tonne capacity lift truck, he doesn't at first explain how accurately and safely it presents a pallet to within inches of the most expensive aeroplanes flying. He rather eulogises about Boss' service support and Spare parts holding; the fact that, after his drivers test‐drove the SX50, no one wanted to try any others; and the truck's remarkably low emissions.
