Abstract

IN AUGUST 1971 the Unsolicited Goods and Services Act became law. One of its intentions was to protect companies against the activities of inertia‐selling bogus‐directory firms. What is happening? The law is being flouted and these firms have resurged in the last few months on a scale much larger than before. British companies are again being flooded with invoices for entries they never asked for in trade and telex directories which are never published.
