Abstract

In today's fast‐changing business environment, decisionmaking has become increasingly complex. Managers must juggle data on resources, costs, inflation and disinflation, market needs, demographics, ROI, R&D, government regulations, and much more. With every important business decision thrusting a manager into a thicket of facts and figures, the challenge is to cut through the tangle to select the right information. Only then can the options be properly evaluated and an informed decision be made. For companies in today's competitive environment, obtaining the right information can make the difference between getting ahead or falling behind.
