Abstract

A seriously troubled company needs cost management as part of a comprehensive survival effort. To determine the viability of the company, top management should develop a strategic concept of the company by defining its corporate objective in specific terms. For example: The Jones Co. will design and manufacture custom‐engineered automatic assembly equipment for the automotive industry.
