Abstract

The buzzword of the moment applies to a host of fields: media, technology, telecommunications, even European currencies. Convergence—whether of information networks or national economies—stems from the basic human need to synthesize, to create a unified whole from disparate elements. The world shrinking, as both technology and trade bring people, businesses, and economies together. Rather than tackle convergence in all its forms, we focused on the meaning of technological convergence.
