Abstract

Polymekon 1488 is a 20 per cent emulsion of a special organically modified polysiloxane which was developed by Th. Goldschmidt Ltd, 150 Field End Rd, Eastcote, Middx, as an anti‐foam agent for non‐woven textile production. It has subsequently found a wide range of applications, especially in the de‐foaming of emulsion paints based on acrylates, vinyl polymers and SB‐lateces. Polymekon 1488 is miscible with water in any proportion, the diluted emulsions being stable for several days, and is effective in both acid and alkaline media.
