Coatings update: trends in raw materials

Abstract

From Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. (Box 538, Allentown, PA 18105) comes a new low‐cost polyvinyl acetate emulsion with the wet adhesion properties of the more expensive acrylics. This has been achieved, according to the manufacturer, through the use of a special wet adhesion promoter. Thus it is recommended for the formulation of premium and first‐line interior and exterior paints.
