Abstract

The inherent problem of pin‐holing when lacquer is applied to certain open grain veneers has been overcome by paint and lacquer specialists Intercoat after an in‐depth research and development project with one of the U.K.'s leading furniture manufacturer, Nathan. The two companies have worked closely throughout 1990 to produce a lacquer system which stops pin‐holing — caused when air is trapped in the deep grain of veneers such as sapele.
