Abstract

The first part of the paper was an account of the activities of the Acquisitions, Cataloguing and Circulation Working Party (ACCWP) of the Aslib CAG. One of the current objectives of the ACCWP is the production, with the close cooperation of Aslib, of a ‘Directory of operational computer applications in United Kingdom libraries and information units’. In the covering letter sent out with a questionnaire in March 1973, operational was defined as ‘an application which is clearly functioning now in a working library or information centre, or which is so advanced in its development that it will be operational by 1st July 1973’.
