Abstract

The Remote Terminal Emulation system consists of multiple IBM PCs, each capable of simulating the online usage of (up to) 16 terminals on the LS/2000 integrated library system. The analysis of online usage of catalogs at the University of Maryland's Health Science Library and at Hampshire College provide the basis for realistic simulations of search types, search sequences, and other variables.
