Abstract

Dear Madam, It frequently happens during a search that books which might, or might not, contain the information required are in use elsewhere. As it is out of the question for departmental libraries to hold enough copies of an expensive book to ensure that one will always be immediately available, it would be of great value if publishers of reference books would make available to purchasers at the time of publication extra copies of the index in pamphlet form.
