Abstract

In the previous papers, we heard some of views of the ‘large’ users and we heard something about the approach of the ‘large’ suppliers to both the ‘large’ and the ‘small’ users. I'm glad to have the opportunity now of saying a few words about the ‘small’ supplier. The International Food Information Service (IFIS) is very definitely not yet in the big league. We process and publish a mere 16,500 references per year, which is small fry compared with the 140,000–250,000 references per year dealt with so far.
