Information services for the universities

Abstract

I feel obliged to begin by apologizing for my lack of current involvement in that sphere of activity—the university world—which I am to discuss. I have, however, provided information services in two universities in the recent past and have seen many others in operation, and now believe that my position of comparative detachment at Boston Spa is in fact an advantage in as much as it aids a clearer view of the many and often complex problems which beset the provision of information services to universities.
