Abstract

The road spring lubricator illustrated was mentioned in our patent abstracts recently. It is manufactured by Desmo Ltd., Scholefield Street, Birmingham, 7. The makers claim that this lubricator ensures that springs are constantly lubricated with the minimum of care and attention, and once fitted can be forgotten except for the periodic topping up of the oil reservoir. This should not be necessary in less than 500 miles—every 1,000 miles is more usual. The illustrations make the working, and fitting, of the lubricator self explanatory. It is noted that a gauze filter is incorporated above the ball valve, so it is desirable to swill out the oil reservoir with paraffin about every 30,000 miles.
