PHILIPS PRODUCE UNIVERSAL CLARIFIER FOR GRINDING MACHINE COOLANTS.

Abstract

The New Philips Universal Clarifier is designed to remove all contamination, including fine suspended particles of swarf and grinding wheel dust from any type of coolant used on any type of grinding machine. The advantages of installing this type of unit are many. The usual method of separation by settling tank where swarf and sludge can be drawn off at the bottom is never perfectly satisfactory if complete cleaning of the coolant is required. This may be partly due to the fact that the action of the coolant pump causes a turbulance in the tank which prevents the smaller particles from separating. Settling tanks of this type, must, of course, be periodically emptied and cleaned and coolant is required to be renewed more often than when a clarifier is employed.
