Abstract

MOLYBDENUM DISULPHIDE, MoS2, used as a dry powder in conjunction with a bonding material, has been used for some years as a solid film lubricant in view of its valuable anti‐frictional properties at high temperatures. In cases where liquid lubrication is difficult or impossible, MoS2 may often be used and its uses are increasing. It is well, therefore, to review some of the technical papers that have appeared concerning this material and which discuss its properties and methods of use.
