WHALE OIL PROCESSING ON A FACTORY SHIP

Abstract

WHALING IN THE ANTARCTIC began when a whaling station was established at Grytviken in South Georgia in 1904. This company in it's first season employed one whalecatcher and took 195 whales yielding 5,302 barrels of whale oil.
