A NEW SWEDISH METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC WARNING OF BEARING WEAR IN MARINE DIESEL ENGINES

Abstract

A COMPARATIVELY inexpensive alarm system for preventing crankcase explosions in ships' diesels, caused by abnormal wear on or breakdown of bearings, has been developed by the Götaverken shipyard, Gothenburg. Patents for the new system have been applied for in several countries.
