MARINE BEARING DESIGN METHODS

Abstract

IN A PAPER to the Institute of Marine Engineers on 11th April, 1967, A. G. Howe, M.B.E., C.Eng., M.I.Mar.E. (formerly Engineering Director of Davey, Paxman & Co. Ltd.) and H. Watson, B.Sc, Ph.D. (Engineering Manager, Large Engines, Ruston and Hornsby Ltd.) dealt with specific design features of medium and high‐speed oil engines. The following extract from their paper is that concerning bearing design.
