Abstract

WATERMIX fluids play an important part in industrial lubrication. They are employed as hydraulic fluids, cutting fluids, rolling and wire drawing lubricants, and mould release agents, just to mention a few of their applications. For some applications, watermix fluids have advantages over non‐emulsifiable lubricants in that they are cheaper, they give greater cooling power, they are fire‐resistant and they give lower frictional drag. On the other hand, they require more careful handling if consistant performance is to be achieved in service.
