Abstract

SEVEN years of research and experiment by Sulzer Brothers, of Winterthur, Switzerland, has led to the development of a special diesel engine piston ring assembly embodying a detector component functioning automatically to measure and indicate early phases of ring wear without loss of engine running time incurred by normal inspection routine.
