BETTER THAN GUESSWORK: A look at Optimol's SRV test performance in a check of used gear oil condition

Abstract

The Munich‐based Optimol Werke GmbH provide this report on test‐work carried out in conjunction with Daimler‐Benz, on used gear lubricant, demonstrating the simple and economical routine of the SRV test system. This mechanical‐dynamic method of securing early diagnosis of gear‐oil condition, indicates at the same time, the imminence, or otherwise, of need for an oil‐change.
