Abstract

The Meat Promotion Executive recently published the results of some market research carried out among 900 demographically representative men and women to discover where they buy meat, how they choose it, which types of meat they prefer and how they cook meat. According to these investigations, meat appears to be cooked by most families more than four times a week and by as many as 30% of families as often as seven times a week. Table 1 shows the frequency with which different varieties or cuts of meat were served, and table 2 shows which meats were never served by those taking part in the research.
