Abstract

The composition of human milk varies from mother to mother, from day to day and even during one single feed. It has been proposed that the average composition of human milk can be taken as a basis for the calculation of an infant's requirements. To date, it seems to be the best guide for recommendations on the composition of formulae feeds.
