Scottish universities aim at more consistency

Scottish universities aim at more consistency

Keywords Qualifications, Scotland, Universities

A two-year project has been established by the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council, to encourage more consistency and comparability among universities using the Scottish credit accumulation and transfer scheme.

A network of co-ordinators in every Scottish university will be responsible for developing the way in which the credit accumulation and transfer scheme is used to benchmark qualifications.

The intention is to develop a national framework so that courses offered by one institution can easily be compared with those offered by others. Students will be able to map their own progress within the education system and make better informed choices about courses.
