Improvements in key aspects of training blind and partially-sighted people are called for in a report published on behalf of Action for Blind People, the Royal London Society for the Blind and the Royal National Institute for the Blind.

The report suggests improved access to training, the introduction of externally validated programmes with opportunities for progression, and an easier transition from training to employment.

The report estimates that around seven out of ten blind and partially-sighted people are out of work, and national planning is needed to improve their job prospects.
