The Pave (promoting added value through evaluation of training) project, funded under the EU Leonardo training programme, examined how and why employers evaluate training.

The project team carried out postal and telephone surveys and visits to companies with effective evaluation processes. More than 1,600 companies from England, Finland, Germany, Ireland and Northern Ireland took part.

A handbook has been published, showing examples of good practice and how employers approach evaluation. It also includes case studies from the employer visits.
