Classes of people aged between 10 and 19 are invited to take part in a "Motto for Europe" competition, sponsored by the European Parliament and European Commission and supported by several major newspapers in Europe.
The motto must be of fewer than 12 words, and accompanied by a supporting statement of fewer than 300 words.
Entrants must enrol before 14 December 1999. The closing date for entries is 31 December 1999.
